The Buyer is responsible for procuring goods and services to support the operations of the ABB Metal BF plant (Terrebonne, QC) and the operational needs of the GFI plant (Pointe-Claire, QC). Working closely with internal teams and suppliers, the incumbent ensures the efficient processing of purchase requests, order management, delivery follow-up, and the maintenance of positive supplier relationships.

The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

Procurement and Purchase Order Management Create and manage purchase orders (POs) in the ERP system in accordance with established procedures.

Process purchase requests within required timelines.

Analyze and evaluate purchasing options to determine the best value based on operational needs.

Confirm delivery dates with suppliers and perform the necessary follow-ups.

Collaborate with planning, production, and engineering teams to meet operational requirements.

Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.

Assist in resolving issues related to deliveries, quality, or material availability.





Participate in negotiations regarding pricing, commercial terms, and delivery schedules.

Support cost reduction initiatives and procurement process improvements.

Perform basic market analyses to support purchasing decisions.

Ensure the accuracy of procurement data in SAP Ariba and/or any other systems used by the company.

Adhere to the organization's procurement policies, procedures, and standards.

Participate in the continuous improvement of procurement processes and tools.

Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.

Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is considered an asset.

Experience with SAP Ariba ERP is considered an asset.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Bilingualism (French and English) is required due to the existing supplier base.

This role is onsite five (5) days per week and may require travel between plants as needed.
