Taekwondo Instructor (Temporary Part time Contract/Permanent Part-time)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Taekwondo Instructor to join our team at Etobicoke Taekwondo and Deh Camp (ETKD). If you are passionate about encouraging and fostering a new generation of Taekwondo practitioners growth through martial arts, play and physical activity, we want to hear from you!
The successful candidate will be working alongside our Taekwondo Instructional team and they will be responsible for leading, teaching and creating an engaging program for children ages 4-12, teenagers and adults.
Our Taekwondo classes run daily (Monday - Friday) from 4:00 to 8:00 and on Saturdays (10:00 - 1:00)
Position Details
- Location: 100 Advance Road, Etobicoke, ON, M8Z 2T7
- Duration: TBD
- Schedule: Monday-Friday and Saturday
- Hours: 4:00-8:00 PM
- Job type: Part time, in person/on site
Key Responsibilities
- Assist and deliver age appropriate activities for a diverse group of children, teenagers and adults and abilities
- Ensures the safe use (setup/teardown) of equipment when conducting classes
- Teach the foundations of taekwondo (kicks, punches, strikes, blocks, stances and patterns)
- Continually assess the skill levels of our members
- Participate with the preparation and maintenance of the gym space
- Monitors and maintains attendance of our members
- Facilitate sparring activities (on occasion)
- Teach students patterns 1 to 8 (Poomsae)
- Support the instructors with belt promotion testing (Patterns and Breaking)
- Uphold the core values of taekwondo to our students
- Participate in tournaments (on occasion)
Qualifications
- Must be minimum 18 years of age
- Completion of high school diploma
- Completion of a Degree or Diploma, enrolled in a post secondary program or equivalent experience
- 2nd Dan black belt or higher (Kukkiwon)
Nice to have
- Valid First Aid certification or pursuing first aid certification
- Full G drivers license
- Experience leading classes of varying age groups
- Fitness certified
- Experience with point of sales
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
