Capital Family Services is looking for a compassionate, confident, and dedicated Team Lead to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership prospect for someone who is passionate about supporting vulnerable children, youth, adults, and families while helping a team deliver exceptional, consistent care.
As a Team Lead, you will provide on-shift leadership and coaching to a diverse team of professionals delivering 24/7 managed care and specialized services. Reporting to the Case Manager, you will play an important role in client care, staff development, operational support, and crisis response.

What You'll Do
Client Care & Program Support
- Support the implementation of individualized client care plans, including goal setting and program planning.
- Provide compassionate support for clients' physical, emotional, medical, social, and behavioural needs.
- Help clients develop practical life skills such as hygiene, cooking, money management, shopping, and personal safety.
- Plan and facilitate recreational, educational, social, vocational, and physical activities.
- Support clients in accessing community resources, attending appointments, and participating in community activities.
- Administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of shift notes, client reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Promote a safe, healthy, and supportive living environment.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide on-shift leadership, coaching, guidance, and support to front-line team members.
- Foster a positive, collaborative workplace where team members feel supported and empowered.
- Support employee onboarding, training, development, and performance management.
- Conduct regular check-ins and contribute to employee evaluations and development goals.
- Address staffing concerns and day-to-day issues through effective communication and shift discussions.
- Support student placements and help create meaningful learning experiences.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to effective team communication.
- Support staffing and shift coverage and ensure accurate time and attendance reporting.
- Participate in the Team Lead, After-Hours On-Call, and Manager on-call rotation.
Operations & Compliance
- Support the Case Manager with day-to-day operational and managerial responsibilities.
- Ensure programs and services are delivered consistently and in accordance with client needs and organizational standards.
- Maintain accurate information in organizational systems, including CIS, Zoho, and other approved platforms.
- Promote compliance with Social Development, First Nations, health and safety, and other applicable regulations and organizational requirements.
- Participate in home and safety inspections and promptly address identified concerns.
- Complete required health and safety documentation and maintain a strong culture of workplace safety.
Crisis Leadership
- Respond to emergencies with calm, confident, and decisive leadership.
- Identify potential risks and contribute to comprehensive crisis management planning.
- Support staff training, drills, and simulations to ensure teams are prepared to respond effectively.
- Provide guidance to team members during active crisis situations.
- Participate in incident debriefs, team check-ins, and post-crisis evaluations.
- Help identify opportunities to strengthen future crisis response and team readiness.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, email, and cloud-based systems.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or physical, medical, or behavioural support needs, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Completed college diploma or university degree in a human services field is considered an asset.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Food Safe Certification is considered an asset.
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Clear Social Development Check.
- Reliable transportation.
