MORNING NANNY FOR OUR 4 YEAR OLD, OAKRIDGE NEAR LANGARA

$25/hr, Mon to Fri, 8:30 to 12:00

We are looking for someone to spend weekday mornings with our 4 year old. Our nanny has been with us a while and just finished her degree, so she is off to work in her field and we are sad to lose her.

Peyton is 4. He is into vehicles, LEGO, crafts, games and being outside as much as possible. He is funny and affectionate and he has a lot of energy. Like most 4 year olds he has hard moments, usually around transitions, and we are looking for someone who can stay calm through those rather than talk him out of them.

Your morning would be breakfast together, then playing at home or doing an activity, then usually a walk or the park, then lunch with him before you head out at noon. That is really it. The routine is simple and it does not change much.

One of us works from home and both of us are sometimes around, but we stay out of your way and let you run the morning. We also have two cocker spaniels who bark like maniacs when they meet someone new and then settle down when you give them attention (and they give lots of kisses!).

The person we are hoping to find has a couple of years of qualified experience with toddlers or preschoolers and two or three childcare references we can actually call. Beyond that,



what matters most to us is someone who likes playing with kids and is not reaching for a screen, who stays patient when he is having a rough morning, and who shows up when they say they will.

The whole point of this job is that we can count on it.

You should also be comfortable getting around on transit with a kid. First aid and CPR are preferred. We will need a clean criminal record check. Non smoker, and legally able to work in Canada.
A background in early childhood education, child development, psychology or behavioural support, or experience with neurodivergent kids, is a real bonus.

We will pay for a meet and play visit before the start date so Peyton can get used to you first.

Job details:

- $25 an hour
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 12:00 pm, 17.5 hours a week
- Paid stat holidays
- Start date ideally Tuesday September 8
- Extra hours or evening babysitting available if you want them
- Oakridge near Langara, 8 minutes on foot from the Langara 49th Ave Canada Line station and about 2 minutes from the 49 bus, so no car needed
