As a Library Assistant at KPU, you will report to the Library Supervisor and contribute to the library's vision of equity and inclusion. A deep understanding of Indigenous cultures and backgrounds will guide your support in decolonization and reconciliation projects.
Strong organizational skills and a commitment to diverse community engagement are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support library efforts on inclusion and access
- Assist in promoting Indigenous knowledge and values in resources
- Facilitate engagement with diverse community groups
- Organize and maintain library resources efficiently
- Foster an inclusive environment for all library users
Requirements:
- Completion of a Library Technician diploma or equivalent education
- Relevant experience within Indigenous communities or on IDEA issues
- Understanding of digital or physical accessibility
- Competence in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills
- Physical ability to lift materials and operate carts
