Utilize your expertise as a Certified Prosthetist with Hamilton Health Sciences to impact patient mobility positively. This full time role focuses on patient assessments and prosthesis management.
As part of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Department, you will deliver essential services, conducting assessments, designing, and fitting prostheses for diverse cases. Working collaboratively with the healthcare team, you will engage with inpatients and outpatients, ensuring holistic care for those with amputations.
Mentoring clinical students may also be part of your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients and perform measurements for prostheses
- Design and provide fitting for various prosthetic types
- Support follow-up care for amputee patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Mentor and teach clinical students in prosthetics
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Orthotics Prosthetics program
- Certified prosthetist status with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada
- Experience with patients facing mobility challenges
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Valid Ontario driver’s license for travel between sites
