As a Library Assistant at KPU, you will report to the Library Supervisor and contribute to the library's vision of equity and inclusion. A deep understanding of Indigenous cultures and backgrounds will guide your support in decolonization and reconciliation projects. Strong organizational skills and a commitment to diverse community engagement are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support library efforts on inclusion and access
• Assist in promoting Indigenous knowledge and values in resources
• Facilitate engagement with varied community groups
• Organize and maintain library resources efficiently
• Foster an inclusive environment for all library users
Requirements:
• Completion of a Library Technician diploma or equivalent education
• Relevant experience within Indigenous communities or on IDEA issues
• Understanding of digital or physical accessibility
• Competence in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills
• Physical ability to lift materials and operate carts
