Job Description – Robotics Operator & Technician FulcrumAir is positioning itself to be a world leader in UAV and Aerial Robotics Technology for the powerline industry. Our unique and innovative technology is creating safer, more efficient, and more environmentally responsible replacements for powerline environment tasks that have evolved little up until now. We are expanding and looking to add a talented and motivated operator/technician to our Calgary team.

The Robotics Operator & Technician, working as a member of the manufacturing team, is responsible for the overall assembly, depot maintenance, overhauls, and repairs of FulcrumAir UAVs and Aerial Robotics Systems. In addition to the technical skills explained below, this person will support the operations team by operating robotic equipment to perform device installs, and other related tasks. You will also have the opportunity to travel up to 2 weeks a month, exploring new environments and collaborating with a team of experts to deliver exceptional results for our clients.

Relevant experience such as electrical assembly, small electronics repair, aircraft maintenance, or experience with drones/RC vehicles is an asset.

Some of the skills that would make a successful Robotics Operator and Technician are:

Expert in soldering and circuitry

Robust mechanical aptitude with the ability to use a variety of hand and power tools

Thorough understanding of wiring and electronics





Knowledge of electronic and mechanical systems troubleshooting and diagnostics

Ability to interpret technical drawings

Familiarity with manufacturing facilities

Familiarity with UAV autopilots, GPS units, radios, and other components

Knowledge of electric motors and control systems

Computer skills

Strong attention to detail

Meticulous organization and housekeeping

Requirements include:

Willing and able to travel up to 2 weeks a month

Willing and able to travel internationally with current passport

Driver’s license with a clean abstract

Ability to conform with FulcrumAir’s pre-employment drug and alcohol testing program

Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Punctuality and professionalism

Completed High School/GED

Preferred qualifications:

Applicable technical qualification such as Electrical Engineering Technology, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, or equivalent

3 + years of relevant experience

Expected Interview Stages:

45 minute video interview

1 hour in-person interview (if possible)
