Position OverviewGiffen Consulting Ltd. (Giffen) is looking to add a Senior Structural Engineer to join a growing engineering team. We are looking for an individual with a mining and heavy industrial background to join us on a full time basis at our Saskatoon Office. We hold our team to the highest level of accountability to ensure we provide tailored solutions to successfully execute our clients' projects.We believe that open communication is the key to fostering reliable and lasting relationships within our company and with those we conduct business with.Key ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will be able to:Conduct site investigations for mining and industrial projectsReview and design structures, building envelope systems, and structural components while adhering to established guidelines and client specificationsConcept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designsDetailed concrete and steel design, including interaction with design team to produce 3D models and associated documentationMember sizing with supporting calculationsProvide oversight on tendering, contract administration, schedule,



and budget to ensure projects are completed to specificationProvide cost estimating review and assistanceWrite and review technical reports, specifications, and construction specificationsProvide coordination with various departments and disciplines as required for project implementation, mine design, and inspectionAbility and willingness to travel for site visitsAbility to present project designs and concepts to clientsCollaborate with vendors, clients, and other key stakeholdersQualifications + ExperienceDegree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Structural Engineering, from an accredited universityRegistered as a Professional Engineer in Canada8+ years of progressive experience as a Structural Engineer on Mining / Heavy Industrial ProjectsFamiliar with structural analysis software like BIM, Advanced Steel and RISA (Revit is an asset)Familiar with greenfield and brownfield mining projectsKnowledge of industry standards, regulations, and codes of practiceWhat We OfferGiffen is an open, welcoming, accepting, and positive space for all our employees and contractors.
