Business Unit: Engineering | Reports To: Director of Enterprise Transformation | Payroll Status: Salaried | Effective: Oct 2025, revised Mar 2026JOB DESCRIPTIONNPI (New Product Introduction) Manager oversees the process of bringing a new product (or existing product with obsolete process) from design to optimized customer production and final deliveries. Including first article approval and full industrialization to reach targeted financial and quality metrics as per design.By coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines, budgets, and risks to ensure successful product launches that meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. Key responsibilities include leading project planning, communicating with stakeholders and senior management, resolving issues, driving design for manufacturability (DFM), and working with production partners and the supply chain.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCNC Programming of all the Machining Operations using innovative techniques to guarantee a lights out process (closed doors)Process Development & Validation: develop, innovate, and improve manufacturing processes, ensuring they are validated and compliant with regulatory and quality requirementsCross-Functional Team Leadership: lead and coordinate teams across design, engineering, quality assurance, marketing, and operations to ensure smooth product introductionsProject & Budget Management: set project timelines and budgets, manage project financial expenditures, and request funding for capital equipmentTechnical Oversight: provide technical leadership for manufacturing aspects of new products, including during quotations, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectivenessRisk Management: conduct risk assessments, develop contingency plans, and resolve technical issues to prevent project delaysContinuous Improvement: implement quality and efficiency measures such as Lean and Six Sigma, and provide training on new equipment and processesStakeholder Communication: communicate with management and stakeholders to provide project updates and manage expectationsTechnology Transition:
lead the technology transfer process to the sustaining production team once a product is ready for full productionEnsure programs comply with AS9100, customer specific quality standards, and regulatory requirementsManage production cost with expected quoted costs achieving expected gross marginTeam Leadership & Development: oversee and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers; handle hiring, performance reviews, and career developmentStrategic Planning: align engineering goals with broader company objectives; plan for future capacity needs and long-term facility layoutsCreate clear and concise technical documents, drawings, instructions and specificationsLead and work with numerous departments to effectively create and launch new processesCoordinate the design, build, sourcing and try-out of equipment, tooling and processes within an agreed timeline for a particular product, in cooperation with manufacturing and engineeringFacilitate the creation and maintenance of process FMEAs and control plansComplete additional projects and responsibilities as requiredEXPECTATIONS100% on time deliveries on projects100% on projects budgeted cost100% over 1.33 Cpk on machining key characteristics100% customer satisfactionBe punctual and prepared to begin work at the scheduled start time every dayPlan vacation, personal time, and absences responsibly in accordance with company policy and operational needsQUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATIONBachelor's degree (BA/BS) or MS from a four-year college or university preferred, majors include mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent experience in the industry, preferably aerospaceProject Management Professional (PMP)
