The Schizophrenia and Community Integration Service includes regional specialized inpatient care of individuals with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and other psychotic illnesses with further complexities related to addiction(s), medical, psychosocial and behavioural issues; outpatient clinics fromearly intervention to tertiary follow-up providing specialized interventions that support community tenure; and assertive communityoutreach teams that provide intensive support, intervention and rehabilitation in the individual's home or community. The program mandate includes clinical care service delivery, learning and development/capacity building of other providers, and collaboration with community mental health, addiction, social services and housing partners. In addition to the specialized focus of care for individuals with psychotic disorders and complex issues, the Schizophrenia and Community Integration portfolio includes the Patient and Family Collaborative Support Services, centralized Therapeutic Recreation programs, Community Treatment Order Program and is the Mental Health and Addiction Program liaison to the Psychiatric Patient Advocate Office. The service is committed to strengthening partnerships and system integration through community development, research and innovation.Position Summary: Together with the Medical Head of Service, the Director provides leadership and strategic guidance to advance the portfolio as a prominent leader in clinical care, education, innovation and research. Within a collaborative leadership model, and in alignment with the mission, values and strategic directions of the organization, the Director sets the vision and operational plan for this portfolio, including volumes, fiscal resources and capital planning and enables our teams to continue to consistently provide innovative, high-quality patient care programs and services. The Director is responsible to foster a team-oriented and inclusive work environment that is safe, healthy, diverse, equitable and focused on continuous learning and improvement.



The Director will lead development of proposals and seek creative solutions to the challenges of maintaining fiscal responsibility while supporting innovative programming to expand and enhance services for adults with a range of mental health and addictions concerns within the context of complexity related to medical, behavioural, social, financial and housing issues that this population may experience. In addition, the Director will lead work across the MHAP portfolio, in coordination with MHAP leadership and other SJHH leaders. The Director will oversee family and peer services including as Co-Chair of the Joint Advisor's Council. The Director establishes partnerships and collaborates with community and regional providers, provincial agencies, funders, and other external key stakeholders and advocates for affordable housing, meaningful peer support roles and family centred services and other supports that add quality to life for those in recovery.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Vice-President, Mental Health and Addictions, the Director is accountable for the effective and efficient operations of the portfolio that services patients locally, throughout the region and beyond.
