Support perfusionists at Health Sciences North with critical patient care as a Perfusion Assistant. Lead in data entry, inventory management, and operate hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
This position requires a Clinical Diploma in Respiratory Therapy and two years’ clinical experience. The Perfusion Assistant will work under the Clinical Manager, assisting with ECMO, IABP, LVAD, and blood gas analysis. You’ll also provide mentorship to learners while ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect and enter statistical information for management
• Assist with monitoring lines and patient setup
• Perform auto transfusion procedures and blood gas analysis
• Assemble and disassemble heart-lung machines
• Educate on health and safety regulations
Requirements:
• Diploma in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent
• Current CRTO registration in positive standing
• Minimum of two years’ clinical experience
• Excellent computer and interpersonal skills
• Successful vulnerable sector check required
