Make a difference in Edmonton’s community safety as a Building Safety Code Officer II. This role involves evaluating and ensuring compliance of construction projects with safety codes and regulations.
You will be responsible for conducting inspections and plans examinations as part of the Safety Codes, Permits & Inspections team. Collaborating effectively with builders, contractors, and designers, you will guide them in adhering to safety standards. Your insights will help resolve deficiencies and support protected development within the city.
Key Responsibilities:
•Review plans and permit applications for new constructions
•Perform detailed inspections to verify adherence to approved plans
•Issue or revoke building permits via municipal data systems
•Provide consultation to resolve construction code issues
•Identify and address safety risks on-site during inspections
Requirements:
•Completion of 12th grade plus 5 years of industry experience
•OR: 2-year diploma with 7 years of industry experience
•OR: Degree in engineering/architecture with 5 years of experience
•Registered Safety Codes Officer with proper certifications
•Practical experience in scheduling and building practices
