Position Overview RSS is seeking a Senior Accountant with hands-on private company experience to own daily accounting operations and the month-end close. This is a non-supervisory, execution-focused role ideal for someone who thrives in a self-directed environment. You’ll partner closely with our Fractional CFO to deliver accurate, timely financial information that supports decision-making. Key Responsibilities Daily Accounting Operations Review and approve AP (Traild) Manage AR, invoicing, deposits, and deductions Post and reconcile daily cash activity Prepare rolling 12-week cash flow forecasts Perform daily bank reconciliations Month-End Close Prepare accruals, prepaids, depreciation, inventory, FX, and intercompany entries Complete full balance sheet reconciliations (AR/AP, inventory, payroll, prepaids, etc.) Own the month-end close checklist and variance analysis Inventory & Cost Accounting Maintain inventory valuation across Canada & the U.S. Reconcile landed costs, WIP,



usage, and standard cost variances Review freight, duties, and overseas shipping allocations Financial Reporting & Compliance Prepare schedules for forecasting, analysis, and year-end review Support external accountants and tax filings Ensure compliance with HST/GST, payroll, WSIB, CRA, and statutory deadlines Systems & Process Improvement Support ERP (Syspro preferred), automation, and integrations Maintain SOPs and internal controls Identify inefficiencies and support Lean / Kaizen initiatives Cross-Functional Support Partner with Operations & Supply Chain on inventory and audits Provide margin and cost analysis to Sales and Customer Service Required Qualifications 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a private company workplace preferred Post-secondary education in Accounting (CPA preferred) Strong GAAP/IFRS knowledge Manufacturing experience strongly preferred Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/Pivot Tables required) Power Query & Power Automate preferred) Experience with ERP systems (Syspro an asset) Highly detail-oriented, organized, and self-directed Comfortable working independently in a lean structure Strong communication and collaboration skills Accessibility RSS is committed to AODA compliance.
