Contribute to significant research on language rights at the University of Ottawa as a Research Assistant for the 2027 Winter Semester. This position requires strong legal writing and research skills in both English and French.
As a Research Assistant in the Common Law Section, you will focus on Canada's constitutional framework and official languages. You will utilize your legal research expertise, particularly with the McGill Guide, while supporting projects centered on language rights. This role is part of a cooperative academic environment, fostering both innovation and inclusivity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive legal research on language rights
• Prepare findings and documentation for academic use
• Collaborate with faculty and students on related projects
• Attend training sessions as required
• Assist in administrative tasks linked to research activities
Requirements:
• In-depth knowledge of Canada’s constitutional framework
• Proficiency in legal research tools and McGill Guide
• Excellent bilingual legal writing skills
• Willingness to apply for additional fall position (JR38552)
• Must complete mandatory training as per university policy
