We are currently seeking compassionate and reliable Registered Health Care Aides (HCAs) to provide supplemental staffing support within healthcare settings in the Victoria/Sidney area. This casual position offers flexible scheduling based on operational needs and may include day shifts, overnight shifts, and extended shifts. The successful candidate will deliver safe, professional, and person-centred care while working collaboratively with healthcare teams and adhering to established care plans, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centred care in accordance with established care plans.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal care, mobility, and transfers.
- Promote client comfort, dignity, safety, and independence.
- Observe and report changes in client condition or care needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication.
- Follow infection prevention and control practices and workplace safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with facility staff, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards of care.
Education
Graduate of a recognized Health Care Aide, Resident Care Attendant, Community Health Worker, Personal Support Worker, or equivalent program.
Experience & Qualifications
- Current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
- Current Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
- Previous experience working as a Health Care Aide in a healthcare setting.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing client and operational needs.
- Experience in long-term care, assisted living, community care, or other healthcare environments is considered an asset.
- Food Safe Certification is considered an asset.
Availability Requirements
Ability to work a variety of shifts based on operational requirements, including:
- Days )
- Overnights )
- Extended shifts )
- Flexibility to accept shifts as staffing needs arise.
- Reliable transportation is considered an asset.
