Help drive positive change for Indigenous families as the Parenting Across the Life Cycle Training Coordinator with ONWA. This role focuses on training and advocacy for Parenting Support Workers. As part of the Ontario Native Women’s Association team, you will report to the Community Development Manager, enhancing the skills and capacity of Parenting Support Workers.
Your work involves creating training sessions, educational materials, and tools to empower Indigenous women in navigating family and child welfare systems. This position emphasizes culturally sensitive training and community collaboration to ensure the well-being of families. Key Responsibilities:
Create and implement effective training programs for support workers
Develop resources that are culturally informed and trauma-sensitive
Assess training needs and develop community outreach strategies
Collaborate with others to meet program objectives
Facilitate workshops and training events across Ontario Requirements:
Minimum education: Post-secondary diploma in related field
Experience in community service delivery (3 years minimum)
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
Solid relationship-building skills
