Enhance safety at Humber as an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist in a hybrid role. Your expertise will shape health protocols and promote workplace excellence for diverse teams. The full time specialist will collaborate within the People(s) and Culture/OHS team to develop and implement a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety program.
Engage in health risk assessments, incident investigations, and compliance activities to ensure a secure educational setting. Your contributions will directly influence Humber's commitment to fostering a culture of safety and well-being. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain health and safety programs
Conduct risk assessments and incident investigations
Manage hazardous spill controls and emergency preparedness
Review WSIB claims and support return-to-work efforts
Liaise with regulatory agencies on health and safety matters Requirements:
University degree in occupational health or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in health and safety
Strong understanding of OHS legislation and regulations
Designation in safety or occupational hygiene preferred
Excellent communication and organizational skills Drive health and safety initiatives at Humber and make a real impact on staff and student well-being.
