Heritage Christian Online School (HCOS) is a thriving K-12 learning community offering home, in-class and online education to students across British Columbia. With adaptable programs and personalized learning, HCOS partners with families to support every child’s unique learning journey.

At HCOS, our Education Assistants (EAs) are independent contractors who are resourceful and innovative educators, providing student support to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department.

We are seeking dynamic Education Assistants to work with students in the family home and/or in our one-day-a-week Community Connections classes. This is a part-time contract position that may grow to full-time hours over the course of the school year, depending on student needs and EA skillsets.

We are actively hiring in the following communities and others across BC:

- Abbotsford
- Chilliwack
- Cariboo region (Between 100 Mile House and Prince George)
- Kelowna
- Kamloops
- Langley
- Victoria

Key Responsibilities

- As an Education Assistant, you’ll work alongside the family and student support team to:
- Support students through executive functioning coaching, self-regulation skill-building, targeted behaviour interventions, and social development
- Differentiate learning based on student ability and learning styles
- Adapt learning activities based on student goals and IEPs




- Contribute to the social, spiritual, and academic learning needs of students, providing mentorship to the whole person

Qualifications

- We are looking for someone who demonstrates the following:
- A commitment to, and lifestyle reflective of, the KCCS Foundational Beliefs
- Specific training in Inclusive Education, such as an Education Assistant certificate or equivalent (preferred)
- Knowledge and experience working with students with ASD, ADHD and other neurodiversities
- Openness to feedback, and a commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth
- Emotional intelligence, and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility, creativity and self-motivation
- Proficiency with Zoom, Google Workspace and other technology
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license

Wage:

- $23.97 – $28.13/hour depending on experience and certifications
- 6-20 hours/week
