Part time Kitchen Assistant | Early Morning Shift (5:00 AM Start) | Training Provided

The Role:

Canco is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Kitchen Assistant to assist with daily food preparation and kitchen operations at our production facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality products are prepared efficiently and meet food safety standards.

This position is ideal for early risers, with shifts starting at approximately 5:00 AM and ending between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM, five days per week.

Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare food items according to established recipes and production schedules
Assist with portioning, labeling, and packaging products for store distribution
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and equipment
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards in compliance with provincial regulations and company policies




Support timely production to meet daily order requirements
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify supervisors of shortages
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries properly (FIFO practices)
Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Participate in daily cleaning tasks, including dishwashing and sanitization
Work collaboratively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations
Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor or Manager

What You Bring:
Previous kitchen or food preparation experience is an asset (not required)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working early morning shifts
Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light-to-moderate lifting
Food Protected Certification (or willingness to obtain) is preferred
