Overview
We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying joint compound and finishing drywall surfaces to create smooth, seamless walls and ceilings. This role requires attention to detail, familiarity with construction processes, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in construction painting, carpentry, or handyman work is highly valued. The Drywall Taper plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality finishes on residential and commercial projects.

Responsibilities
Apply joint compound (mud) to drywall seams, corners, and screw or nail holes using taping knives and trowels
Finish drywall surfaces by sanding, smoothing, and preparing for painting or finishing
Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications to ensure proper application techniques
Install drywall sheets when necessary, including measuring, cutting, and securing panels
Perform caulking around joints and edges to ensure airtight and water-resistant finishes
Maintain a clean work area by removing debris and excess materials regularly




Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Assist with minor handyman tasks as needed to support overall project progress

Skills
Experience with construction painting, carpentry, or handyman work is preferred
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
Knowledge of caulking techniques for sealing joints and edges
Robust attention to detail for achieving smooth finishes
Good hand-eye coordination and steady hand for accurate application of joint compound
Familiarity with safety protocols on construction sites
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions and environments
