Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Cowboy to join our team on a large cattle ranch in British Columbia’s South Central Interior. This is not an entry level position, this job is a hands-on, physically demanding role for a candidate with robust ethic that is able to handle the workload independently and brings their ranching experience to the table.

Requirements:
Minimum 3 years experience with cattle in a cowboy position
Valid Driver's Licence is required
Excellent Horsemanship: confident and capable rider with experience moving and working cattle horseback
Experience with fencing: building, repairing and maintaining various types of fences.
Winter feeding experience: Ability to manage feeding routines during harsh winter conditions
Livestock care experience: daily care and monitoring of cattle; able to recognize illness or injury
Chainsaw operation: Safely and effectively use of chainsaws and other tools for clearing and maintenance work
Self-Motivated and independent: must be capable or working alone,



especially when moving cattle or handling remote tasks

Duties:
Livestock record-keeping, sorting, weaning, branding, shipping, and processing
Moving cattle within the range
Calving out assigned herd
Winter feeding activities
Construction, maintenance, and repair of all types of fencing to acceptable standards
Safely and effectively use chainsaws and other tools for clearing and maintenance work
General yard maintenance as needed and instructed
If required, assist with fieldwork, farming and other ranch chores
General ranch duties

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: $48,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
