About the Role

Swan Lake Market & Garden is seeking an organized and motivated Produce Assistant Department Manager to help lead our produce department through the busy harvest season and beyond. If you love fresh food, fast-paced environments, and being part of a hardworking local team, this could be the role for you.

This position is ideal for someone with grocery or produce experience who enjoys leading by example, keeping operations organized, and contributing to something bigger than just a job.

Key Responsibilities
Open and close the department independently and confidently
Guide and support a team of Produce Associates during your shift
Maintain freshness, food safety, and beautiful displays
Complete inventory counts and support ordering and receiving
Use digital tools including Excel for shift logs, stock tracking, and communications
Assist customers with product selection and carry-outs
Help ensure Swan Lake’s produce standards are upheld with care and consistency

What We’re Looking For
Experience working in produce or grocery retail (1–2 years preferred)
Comfortable stepping into a leadership role and supervising others
Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs and work in coolers
Confident using Excel, email, and basic store systems




Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail
Friendly and community-minded with a positive attitude
Must be available for in-person interview
