Nisku, Alberta based private Oil & Gas service and distribution company seeks an experienced Senior Accountant on a permanent full time basis. We are seeking a energetic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will lead financial reporting processes, and support strategic decision-making through thorough analysis and reporting.

Who You Are:
5+ years of progressive full cycle accounting experience
Ideally within a distribution or product sales company
2 years inventory accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field would be an asset
Proficiency with SAGE 50 accounting software and experience with inventory management software
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a adaptable approach to work assignments.
Ability to work on your own and in a team setting with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The role:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Manage full-cycle accounting including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable reconciliations and bank reconciliations
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations




Record Capital Asset purchases and related amortization
Oversee inventory accounting for all product items
Ensure compliance with GST/PST filings, payroll remittances, and other statutory requirements
Support external accountants
Assist with cash flow forecasting and working capital management
Mentor and provide guidance to other accounting staff
Provide cover for other accounting staff in their absence
Assist with other accounting areas of the business on an as needed basis
