As we prepare to open the Ng Siu Chan Centre, our newest long-term care home, we are seeking passionate and dedicated IPAC Manager who want to help shape the culture, resident experience, and care environment from day one. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the opening of a new home and help create an exceptional experience for residents, families, and team members. Reporting to the Executive Director the IPAC Manager will ensure that there is an organized infection prevention and control program that meets regulatory requirements and is in line with IPAC standards. The IPAC Manager will implement and oversees infection prevention and control best practices that promote the safety of residents, staff volunteers, visitors and physicians across all Yee Hong sites. Q u a li f i c a t i o n s:

Current Registered Nurse, Registered Practical Nurse, Allied Health Professional or equivalent, in good standing. Current CPR certificate Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) certificate Certification in Infection Control (CIC), through Infection Prevention and Control Canada (IPAC) required or a willingness to obtain within next 1 year. Nursing experience in a supervisory, educator position, preferably in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Complex Continuing Care, with relevant experience working in infection control and prevention is required.



Previous experience in long-term care or health care sector is highly preferred Solid understanding of adult learning principles and teaching methods to facilitate learning preferred Ability to organize, plan, and work independently Ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapid paced environment Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Point Click Care and MS Office suite Ability to think critically, analyze information and problem solve effectively Flexible, team-player, able to build and maintain positive working relationships Good knowledge of current directives and legislation in long term care Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate sound decision making, time management and administrative skills. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to exercise empathy and discretion, patience and oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with residents, the public, staff and external service providers. Core Functions

Supports and assists the Executive Director as the Corporate IPAC chair in the development and review of IPAC policies, checklists, quality improvement initiatives, data collection and analysis.



Acts as a member of the broader site management team and provide on-call support during evenings and/or weekends; Support the Executive Director and Director of Resident Care (DRC) in conducting employee investigations, recruitment and performance management as required; Lead the Divisional IPAC Quarterly meeting including facilitation of the meeting and development of reports and policy updates. . Collaborates with the Director of Quality and Performance on enterprise wide research IPAC initiatives Ensures the evaluation and action plan for improvement of the Infection Prevention and Control Program is conducted annually Participate and Lead various divisional and corporate committees. Collaborates with Facility Manager to ensure cleaning protocols are developed based on best practices.

Outbreak Prevention & Management

Collaborates with Public Health, Hospital IPAC Hub and Divisional Leadership team to manage outbreaks Coordinates and Chairs Outbreak Management meetings with local Public Health and other required stakeholders during an outbreak, including minutes, tracking of follow-up actions and implementation and oversight of Outbreak Control Measures Develops and updates an accurate daily Outbreak Line List Ensures timely communication with Public Health re infectious diseases as per regulatory requirements Monitor and supports audit of key IPAC practices; present data to staff, management and to the Joint Health and Safety Committee; facilitates corrective action as needed, including direct coaching and management of staff related to compliance gaps; Works with the Director of Resident Care, Executive Director and the pandemic communications lead to ensure timely communication to residents, staff, volunteer, physicians, visitors and families r
