STRIVE Recruitment

Winnipeg

THE CLIENT STRIVE Recruitment is partnered with a well-established and rapidly growing construction organisation based in the Lower Mainland. Our client is a leading contractor within its sector, supporting large-scale commercial, institutional, residential, and government construction projects across British Columbia.

Following significant growth over the past several years, the organisation continues to expand its finance function and is seeking to add an experienced Project Accountant to its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands‑on construction accounting experience who enjoys taking ownership of projects, partnering closely with Project Managers, and contributing financial insight throughout the full project lifecycle.

THE ROLE The Project Accountant will take ownership of the accounting and financial performance of a portfolio of construction projects from initial setup through completion.

Working closely with Project Managers and the broader finance team, this position will be responsible for project forecasting, job costing, progress billing, subcontractor claims, change orders, committed costs, reconciliations, and monthly project reporting.

This is not purely a transactional project accounting position. The successful candidate will participate in monthly forecasting discussions with Project Managers, investigate project variances and cost discrepancies, and proactively identify financial trends and risks to help ensure projects remain financially on track.

The role offers exposure to sizeable and complex construction projects while providing opportunities to continue developing across project accounting, financial analysis, and broader accounting responsibilities.
