As a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician with SMS Equipment, you'll support customers across Northern British Columbia, working on a diverse range of mining, forestry, construction, and utility equipment. From new equipment builds and major component replacements to field service and diagnostics, no two assignments are the same. This role offers the opportunity to expand your technical expertise, work on industry-leading equipment, and tackle challenging work in a variety of environments. What You'll Do Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on heavy mining and construction equipment. Perform preventive maintenance, component replacements, overhauls, and new equipment builds. Use computerized and manual diagnostic tools to identify equipment issues and complete repairs efficiently. Conduct inspections and identify repair requirements to help minimize equipment downtime. Work independently in remote field environments while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship. Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification with Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement

strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
