Lookout Housing and Health Society is hiring a Janitor Maintenance Worker in Courtenay, BC to ensure site cleanliness and functionality. Your contributions directly impact the quality of life for adults in need.
In this full-time, permanent position, you will report to the Site Manager and represent the values of Lookout. Your responsibilities will include janitorial cleaning, monitoring equipment, and performing necessary repairs to the facility. Additionally, mentoring staff and supporting volunteer efforts will be part of your daily tasks, enabling an inclusive workplace for all guests.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clean and disinfect all surfaces regularly
• Manage garbage removal and recycling processes
• Maintain and monitor building equipment functionality




• Execute repairs and upkeep landscaping around the premises
• Collaborate with staff and supervise volunteers on-site
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 education plus 2 years related experience
• Must hold a valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate
• Crisis Intervention Skills Training is preferred
• Strong ability to work both independently and in teams
• Minimum of two years sobriety is required
