Production Supervisor - Heavy Industrial Location: Richmond Hill, ON

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6 am - 2:30 pm

This is a straight day shift (Monday to Friday) with an incredibly stable company that has recently made a huge investment to upgrade and modernize their equipment and operations. $85,000-100,000 salary depending on experience plus lucrative profit sharing (approx. $10,000 - $20,000 annually)

Here’s what you will do:

Oversee shift production processes and employees; monitoring to ensure compliance with productivity, quality, and delivery standards set out in KPI's and departmental objectives

Participates in hiring, training, ongoing performance management and development of production staff

Report on employee time and attendance

Ensures strict adherence with all health and safety procedures and policies, modeling the behavior, training and coaching as needed and upholds a zero tolerance policy

Leads and participates in continuous improvement initiatives

Conduct audit of equipment setup, ensuring readiness for production and makes adjustments as needed

Participating in company inventories and cycle counts as needed

Update Shop Orders to reflect current manufacturing parameters

Meet production standards as specified in job order and/or ISO documents

Works with engineering to resolve major technical and/or quality issues on the production floor

Responsible for correct inventory transaction to maintain accurate inventory locations

Monitor daily and weekly efficiencies, production plans, rework, scrap rate and make recommendations to improve





Operate equipment in a secure manner, including immediately reporting any equipment malfunction

Documents and communicate all quality issues in a timely and detailed manner

Supports internal audits to the processes and documents of the area of concern

Collaborates professionally and effectively with all other departments, external partners and contractors

Here’s what we’re looking for and what you will need to succeed:

3 or more years of supervisory experience in heavy industrial manufacturing

Postsecondary education preferred

Knowledge of foundry operations or other alloys-based industry is an asset (steel, brass, aluminum, copper, zinc, etc.)

Proven ability to lead teams to hit and exceed production quotas

Proven ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders: Quality, Maintenance, HR, external contractors, etc.

Detail oriented, highly organized and excels at multitasking and can implement and maintain processes

Self-motivated, team player, strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, problem solving

Excellent verbal and written communication and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

Capable of using basic inspection tools such as verniers, micrometers etc.

Experience with LEAN principles and continuous improvement initiatives is preferred

Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation (OHSA) with a proven ability to enforce safety

Solid computer skills: MS Office, ERP
