Contribute to patient care at Foothills Medical Centre as a Health Care Aide in Calgary. Provide support services while helping patients with daily activities in a collaborative care model.
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work on a quick-paced acute medical unit. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will assist in meeting hygiene, nutrition, and mobility needs for patients requiring support. Your role includes observing and reporting on patients’ health and wellbeing, while ensuring a safe environment under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with activities of daily living for patients
• Support nursing staff in delivering routine care
• Observe and report patients’ mood and health
• Maintain a safe and clean environment
• Help organize activities or programs for patient engagement
Requirements:
• Registration or eligibility with CLHA as a Health Care Aide
• Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months
• One year experience in an acute care unit preferred
• Knowledge of working with cognitively impaired individuals
• Current training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
