Position Summary:
WearelookingforaskilledandreliableCook1tojoinourkitchenteam.TheCook1isaseniorlinecookresponsibleforleadingdailyfoodpreparation,cooking,andplatingwhilesupportingtheChefdePartieandSousChef.Thisroleensuresconsistency,quality,andefficiencyacrossallstations,andiscommittedtomaintainingsmoothkitchenoperationsinafast-pacedenvironment
Job Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the preparation, cooking, and plating of menu items according to chef direction and restaurant standards
- Ensure all dishes meet quality, taste, and presentation expectations before leaving the kitchen
- Confidently operate and oversee any designated station (gardemanger, pizza, or other assigned areas)
- Assist with and oversee prep work for all stations as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and train junior staff on proper use
- Collaborate with the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and service team to ensure timely, coordinated service during meal periods
- Exercise strong judgment when following recipes, maintaining food quality, and resolving kitchen challenges
- Address food-related concerns or complaints professionally and promptly
- Modify and prepare dishes to accommodate guest dietary needs, allergies, and restrictions.
- Support inventory rotation, labeling, and proper food storage (FIFO)
- Help maintain a positive, efficient,
and respectful kitchen environment
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members during prep and service
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including local and provincial requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fast-paced kitchen preferred.
- A degree or diploma in culinary arts, skills, or management an asset.
- Chef's certificate-apprenticeship program-culinary training. (Preferred)
- Strong communication skills.
- Food Handling Certificate.
- Ability to work in an fast-pacedenvironment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of cooking techniques, station management, and food safety
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
