Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.The Clinical Manager of the Beausoleil A program is currently seeking a temporary full-time Registered Practical Nurse. The purpose of the position is to provide psychiatric nursing care and physical assessment and related care required to patients within specialized Regional and Provincial Forensic inter-qualified clinical programs.Assess patient condition and needs; develop and implement therapeutic patient treatment/care/discharge plansActively participate in the identification and coordination of provision of services and resources for patients from admission to discharge.Observe, assess, record, and report patient condition; evaluating progress andmodify plans as appropriate; assess patient risk to self and/or othersContribute to a safe, therapeutic environment through awareness of the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards, program/facility wide policies and procedures,



and mandatory trainingREQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) with Oxygen Therapy (OT) and Airway Management (AM).Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience with medical and mental health nursing theory and practiceDemonstrated knowledge of and/or experience with medication practices, side effects, and current treatment modalities, knowledge of mental health medications an assetPreference for recent and related experience working with high-risk patients who are demonstrating treatment-resistant symptomsPreference for forensic mental health experience in a mental health facility or serviceExperience with physical assessment and care requirements and psychiatric nursing theory, nursing practice and forensic mental healthExperience with patient safety including emergency patient care proceduresDemonstrated reasoning and analytical skillsResults oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely resultsDemonstrated leadership, conflict resolution, interpersonal, teamwork and organizational skillsProven ability to adapt readily to change and experience working in a fast-paced work environmentModels and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values and reflects an optimistic and positive attitudePreference for proficiency in French/English language skillsWHAT WE OFFER:Includes 6% in lieu of vacation to start and 14% in lieu of benefits OR 10% if enrolling in HOOPPParticipation in the employee referral programAccess to Waypoint’s Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP)#J-18808-Ljbffr
