The Peer Advocate position focuses on using your experience in social services to help urban and rural peers, particularly within Indigenous communities. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide peer support to individuals struggling with mental health • Facilitate health promotion and harm reduction activities • Mentor peers in a culturally respectful manner • Develop community programs for substance use initiatives • Collaborate with First Nations organizations
Requirements: • Two years of related experience in social services • Knowledge of Indigenous health contexts and principles • Solid interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to manage conflict respectfully • Valid BC Driver’s License may be required
