Join the North End Community Health Centre as a Peer Support Worker, where your lived experience empowers community members facing mental health challenges. Support individuals as they navigate their unique journeys with tailored assistance.
This role is designated for Indigenous individuals passionate about promoting recovery and social support among tenants 50+. In collaboration with a dedicated team, you'll facilitate individualized support plans that promote tenants' independence and integration into the community. Understanding and empathy are key as you encourage residents to connect with available resources.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individualized support to tenants using shared experiences
• Facilitate programming and group sessions within the community
• Assist tenants in accessing necessary resources and support
• Promote mental health and recovery among participants
• Foster robust relationships in a team-oriented environment
Requirements:
• 1-2 years of community work experience
• Strong understanding of harm reduction strategies
• Skilled in effective communication and decision-making
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
• Vulnerable Sector Screening must be current
