Job Description AECOM is searching for a Senior Inspector for municipal infrastructure projects in this current role. Projects primarily consist of road reconstructions,water distribution, sanitary/storm pipelines and water resources and are based in and around Leamington, ON area .
Responsibilities include:
Liaison on site with contractor, client, other approving authorities, including addressing resident concerns
Oversee daily on-site operations
Work closely with the Project Engineer and Project Manager, to ensure construction is in compliance with project specifications
Preparation and maintenance of daily work logs and other project documentation and reporting;
Schedule and conduct regular project meetings with the contractor and client
Provide clarification of drawings and direction to the contractor, with remote support from the Project Engineer
Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications,
and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
Carry out surveys and measurements for quantity calculations
Complete surveys for the preparation of record drawings
Participates indeficiency reviews,testing and commissioning.
Assist with the preparation of the Project Construction Completion and Final Acceptance Certificate; and
Follow AECOM Safety Policies and promote them by example
Training of entry-level employees.
Qualifications 6+ years of relevant experience in a field role on water infrastructure projects
Valid ON Driving license and access to vehicle
Member of Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT); Road Construction Junior Inspector (rcji);
Ability to work unsupervised in a remote location
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of experience with inspection duties oncivil, water and wastewater construction projects greater than$10M orroad reconstructions,water distribution systems, sewage collection systems, sewage pumping stations, sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects, etc.
Construction methods of open cut, watertight closed sheeting, vertical trenching and all other trenchless technologies
Demonstratedsurveying experience
Ability to document inspection and prepare field reports
Attention to detailsand proactive planningisanessential skill
Familiar with materials testing procedures and construction coordination services
Ability to read and interpret Civil construction drawings and specifications
AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset
