Join WSP’s Heritage team as an Intermediate Archaeologist focusing on marine archaeology in British Columbia. Engage in significant archaeological initiatives addressing waterfront developments and Indigenous heritage protection.
In this position, you will lead investigations and contribute to impactful assessments while fostering partnerships with Indigenous communities. Your role includes managing projects related to submerged cultural landscapes and traditional marine-use areas, highlighting your expertise in marine and coastal archaeology. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute terrestrial and marine archaeological assessments
• Analyze historical and oceanographic data for underwater resources
• Develop field programs alongside senior project staff
• Oversee project management and documentation activities
• Enhance team knowledge through mentorship of junior staff
Requirements:
• Master's degree in Archaeology or Maritime Studies preferred
• Intermediate consulting experience in marine archaeology
• Knowledge of underwater cultural heritage legislation
• Experience with marine survey technologies and GIS tools
• Willingness to travel to remote coastal locations
