Join the Genetics and Genomics team at Alberta Precision Laboratories as a Clinical Genetics Technologist I in Cytogenetics. This role emphasizes detailed chromosome analysis and advanced molecular techniques.

As a key member at the University of Alberta Hospital, your responsibilities will include handling patient samples and executing specialized diagnostic procedures. Your experience will contribute significantly to the laboratory’s mission to provide high-quality genetic analyses. You will engage in quality control and research while fostering an educational workplace through training and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform chromosome analysis for patient genetic conditions
• Execute diagnostic tests on various specimen types




• Enter results into laboratory information systems accurately
• Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Participate in lab quality assurance activities

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree plus a Clinical Genetics diploma
• Active registration with CMLTA preferred
• Experience in Cytogenetics or Molecular Genetics
• Attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude
• Ability to work independently and in a team
