Take on a fulfilling role as a Laboratory Technologist I within the Edmonton Zone Anatomic Pathology team. Located at Sturgeon Hospital, this position offers a blend of routine and specialized laboratory work in a cooperative environment.
As a regular full-time employee, you will engage in various technical processes including specimen processing, frozen sections, and quality control activities. Your role spans multiple sites, including the Royal Alex Hospital and the Cross Cancer Institute. You will leverage your recent experience in Anatomic Pathology to support diagnostic testing and guide students under your mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute a variety of routine Anatomical Pathology procedures
• Prepare specimens under rigorous standards
• Conduct embedded and microtomy processes as required
• Lead quality control and ensure compliance
• Participate in rotation for urgent procedures after hours
Requirements:
• Accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program completed
• Active or eligible registration with CMLTA
• Recent Anatomic Pathology and grossing experience
• Strong skills in troubleshooting and time management
• Effective communicator in high-demand settings
