Become a vital part of the Parks and Recreation Department as a Parks and Trails Technician in St. Thomas. This temporary, full time role focuses on maintaining and repairing parks and trail systems.

Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Parks and Forestry, you will ensure municipal parks and trails meet safety and aesthetic standards. You'll be involved in landscaping operations, maintenance of recreational trails, and directing seasonal staff. Your expertise in horticulture will guide your daily tasks while contributing to community beautification.

Key Responsibilities:
• Plan small scale landscaping operations
• Maintain City’s recreational trail systems
• Operate specialized maintenance equipment
• Direct seasonal staff and provide training
• Maintain records of maintenance performed

Requirements:
• 2-year College Diploma in Horticulture
• 2 years’ experience in horticulture with leadership
• Valid “G” Ontario Driver’s Licence
• Chainsaw Certification preferred
• First Aid/CPR certification required
