Join CMHA Kelowna & District as a Community Outreach Navigator, focusing on assisting individuals experiencing homelessness. This full time term role engages in crisis intervention and community resource linkage.
In this position, you will execute outreach strategies to help individuals sheltering outdoors, providing vital case management and referrals to necessary supports. Working Monday through Friday, the role requires empathy and sensitivity in your approach. Ideal candidates will have a background in supporting individuals with mental health and substance use challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and engage outdoors individuals for support
• Organize care kits consisting of food and hygiene supplies
• Collaborate with service providers for coordinated client care
• Administer government-mandated assessments and tools
• Respond to mental health crises and provide immediate support
Requirements:
• High school diploma required
• Experience in mental health and addictions preferred
• Reliable vehicle and class 5 BC driver’s license
• Familiarity with community resources essential
• Listening and communication skills critical for success
