The Advisor, Media & Corporate Communications supports the execution of communications that advance Nutrien’s corporate priorities and protects its reputation. The role is delivery-focused, with clear ownership of media coordination and monitoring, and exposure to issues management and enterprise-level communications.
This position sits within Corporate Communications with secondary support for North American downstream communications. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, situational awareness, and the ability to operate at pace while maintaining quality and consistency.
Media coordination and operations Triage media inquiries and manage Nutrien’s media inbox, ensuring timely, aligned responses and consistent processes
Support coordination of responses to media inquiries and other stakeholder questions
Own media monitoring, including tools and vendor relationships (e.g. Meltwater) and manage media subscriptions
Prepare and distribute daily media summaries, applying judgment to prioritize relevance and evaluating risk
Support timely dissemination of news releases and announcements
Provide media and event support across corporate and downstream
Issues awareness and corporate priorities Monitor media, social and internal channels to identify emerging issues, trends, and risks
Support development of materials for emerging issues, including Q&As;, backgrounders, and internal guidance
Content development and execution Draft a range of communications materials, including internal updates,
web and social content, briefing notes and leadership materials
Translate complex business topics into clear, concise communications tailored to different audiences
Support development of messaging aligned with Nutrien’s corporate narrative and brand
Contribute ideas to strengthen content, channels, and overall communications effectiveness
Build relationships across the business to source information and support communications outcomes
Collaborate across Global Communications & Marketing to ensure consistent messaging of high-quality outputs
North American Downstream Communications support Provide periodic execution support for Downstream communications, including announcements, media engagement, and events
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, or a related field
Strong interest in news, media and geopolitics An understanding of agriculture would be considered an asset
Strong writing and editing skills, with robust attention to detail
Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight timelines with clear direction
