Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Superintendent to oversee the construction of custom smart homes and passive homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential construction, a passion for sustainable building practices, and exceptional leadership skills to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight

Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities for custom smart homes and passive homes, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and timelines.

Team Leadership

Lead and coordinate a team of carpenters and other construction personnel, fostering a productive and cooperative work environment.

Quality Assurance

Conduct regular inspections of work performed to ensure it meets high-quality standards, adheres to design specifications, and complies with building codes and regulations.

Safety Management

Enforce and implement safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure and compliant worksite. Conduct safety meetings and ensure adherence to local safety regulations.

Resource Management

Oversee the effective management and allocation of materials, tools, and equipment. Monitor inventory levels, place orders for additional supplies as needed, and ensure proper maintenance of resources.

Client Relations

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, providing updates on project progress, addressing any concerns, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.

Problem Solving





Identify and resolve any in office issues or challenges related to work quality, safety, or project timelines.

Documentation

Maintain accurate and detailed project records, including daily reports, change orders, and progress updates.

Qualifications

Experience

Minimum of 7 years of experience in residential construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or site superintendent role. Experience with smart home technologies and passive home construction is highly desirable.

Skills

Solid proficiency in managing construction projects, with comprehensive knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and sustainable building practices.

Leadership

Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, manage multiple tasks effectively, and handle complex projects with attention to detail.

Safety Knowledge

In-depth understanding of safety regulations and best practices in construction.

Communication Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, clients, and project stakeholders.

Certifications

Relevant certifications in construction management, safety, and sustainable building practices (e.g., OSHA, LEED) are preferred.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education or certifications in construction management, building science, or a related field is an asset.
