Join Inuuqatigiit Centre as a Community Mentor focused on empowering Inuit children and youth. This part-time position involves delivering play-based programming aimed at enhancing leadership and self-confidence.
As the Right to Play Coordinator, you will plan and implement culturally-relevant activities while collaborating with schools and community organizations. Working under the Manager of Family Well-being, this role promotes youth leadership and community engagement through consistent programming. The position requires flexibility for non-standard hours and occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage with local schools to develop educational programs • Facilitate registration and secure venues for activities • Lead small group discussions to assess youth goals • Plan and host intergenerational community events • Maintain partnerships with community organizations
Requirements: • Diploma in Community Services or related field • 1-2 years of experience facilitating workshops • Knowledge of Inuit culture and child development • Solid communication and planning skills • Experience working with Indigenous communities
