Senior Accountant Stewiacke, NS Reference # HL-LOG-10059 Our client, Logan Drilling Group, is a leader in their industry and has been operating in highly specialized markets for over 60 years. Their business capabilities are multi-dimensional, providing all sizes of wireline diamond core drilling, slim hole oil and gas samples, and both surface and underground drilling operations, as well as coal and salt drilling.

Group is a multinational organization with a head office in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia, a branch office in Moncton, NB, and an affiliated company in the United States. We are pleased to partner with Logan Drilling Group as they look to bring an experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting team at the head office in Stewiacke. Working closely with the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations across three companies within the group, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reconciliations, and effective job and equipment costing.
This is a hands‑on accounting role offering broad exposure to multi‑entity accounting and the opportunity to support both the Controller and Management team within a stable, well‑established organization.
Responsibilities will include
- Performing monthly bank reconciliations across multiple companies
- Reconciling corporate credit card transactions and payments
- Ensuring timely and accurate customer invoice processing
- Maintaining accounts receivable records and following up on aging accounts
- Performing job costing and equipment costing
- Reviewing accounting entries and payments prepared by junior staff for accuracy and completeness
- Recording and reconciling intercompany transactions
- Supporting intercompany and inter-account cash management
- Assisting with month-end and annual reporting, compliance reporting, and ad hoc financial reporting
- Supporting the Controller with audit preparation and annual working papers
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies across multi‑entity accounting workflows
- Providing general accounting support to Management and the broader accounting team The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a multi‑entity or group company environment
- Robust hands‑on experience with reconciliations, accounts receivable, month‑end accounting, and general accounting functions
- Experience with job costing, project‑based accounting, or within the industry would be considered an asset
- A high degree of accuracy, professional judgment, and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
