We are currently seeking a Senior AML Intelligence Specialist to support a high-impact compliance and intelligence function within a regulated workplace. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about financial crime prevention, data analysis, and investigative work.
Position
Overview The Senior AML Intelligence Specialist will leverage multiple data sources to monitor business relationships, identify potential risks or suspicious trends, and support the preparation of Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for regulatory reporting.
Start Date: ASAP Term: 12 months Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (7.25 hours/day) Work Model: In-office (Toronto, ON) Compensation $28.00/hour Key Responsibilities Monitor and assess client activity to identify potential money laundering or terrorist financing risks Analyze and evaluate intelligence from multiple data sources Prepare high-quality STRs and EDD reports for regulatory submission Conduct ongoing risk assessments of clients and business relationships Utilize open-source intelligence (OSINT)
tools and social media platforms for investigations Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather critical intelligence Provide guidance on AML compliance and suspicious activity reporting Identify gaps and recommend improvements to AML programs and controls Support reporting to senior leadership and governance committees Qualifications &
Experience 2+ years in an analytical, intelligence, reporting, or AML-related role Post-secondary education in a relevant field (Finance, Law, Criminology, Business, etc.) or equivalent experience Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint CAMS designation is an asset Solid understanding of AML regulations and compliance frameworks Technical Skills FINTRAC AML regulations & reporting standards STR writing and investigative reporting
