Role Description The Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Ajax, Ontario. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing waste handling equipment such as compactors, balers, and related systems at customer locations. Day-to-day tasks include performing scheduled and corrective maintenance, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and completing required service documentation.
The Service
Technician collaborates with the service team,
provides clear updates to customers, and ensures all work meets safety and compliance standards. The role also involves occasional travel to client sites, supporting commissioning of new equipment, and identifying opportunities to improve system performance and reliability.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Maintenance & Repair and Maintenance skills for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.
- Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently and safely.
- Candidates should possess Field Service experience, including working at customer sites and completing service reports.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and support client satisfaction.
- Diploma or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or a related technical field is an asset.
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals, use diagnostic tools, and follow safety procedures and regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to local and regional customer sites as required.
- Previous experience with compactors, balers, or industrial machinery and knowledge of CSA, ANSI, and OSHA standards is beneficial.
