The Role The Social Worker provides strength-based, collaborative mental health services to children, adolescents, and families in Brantford and Brant County. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, this role supports clients ages 0–18 through assessment, individual and family counselling, urgent intervention, family and group counselling, and services delivered in home, school, or community settings The Social Worker also supports families by helping connect them with appropriate community services and agencies, participates in provincial initiatives such as One Stop Talk, maintains required documentation in accordance with Woodview policies and procedures, and participates in case conferences, team meetings, and regular supervision KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (May include but are not limited to): Clinical service delivery: Providing strength-based collaborative mental health services to children, adolescents and families in the context of a multi-disciplinary team as determined by the needs of the client, the policies and practices of Woodview Mental Health & Autism Services and the skills of the Social Worker. Services include assessment, individual/family counselling (brief and long-term), urgent intervention, family and group counselling in Brantford, and Brant County (ages 0 – 18) in home, school or community.

Family support & resource navigation: Acting as liaison with community services and agencies as determined by the treatment plan and program requirements as a representative of the Centre when delegated.

Supporting provincial initiatives (i.e.

One Stop

Talk)

Documentation & compliance: Maintaining all records and reports as required by Centre’s policies and procedures.

Team collaboration & supervision: Participating in all appropriate case conferences, staff meetings, team meetings and to participate in regular supervision processes.

Qualifications:



Must have BSW or MSW and registration in OCSWSSW or Masters in a related field and membership in the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario or equivalent pertinent work experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience in children’s mental health, knowledge and experience with assessment and treatment planning, therapeutic approaches, solution focused/brief therapy, case management, crisis intervention, group and family therapy

Demonstrated experience working with individuals and families, with knowledge of family systems theory and its application to assessment, intervention and service planning.

A demonstrated ability to work from a strength-based, collaborative perspective with clients and families with complex needs, including anxiety, depression and self- harm

Experience with Youth involved in the Justice System and Trauma Therapy is an asset. Sound knowledge and/or experience in the mental health field and an ability to manage the emotional and behavioural needs of clients

Participation in family sessions, group work, including evening and weekend hours

Robust ability to communicate concise, accurate information in verbal and written reporting.

Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of job (written/verbal/implied)

Knowledge of DBT and CBT is required

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; sound judgment and self-direction

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team

Current Police Check, including vulnerable screening

Valid driver’s license and daily use of a reliable vehicle with the ability to transport clients Assets: Second language

NVCI and ASIST certification

Experience with Youth involved in the Justice System and Trauma Therapy

Valid First Aid and CPR Additional Information Flexible scheduling including 2 evenings and occasional weekends
