About the role Reporting to the instrumentation supervisor, the telecommunications technician is part of the mine maintenance team. Working on a 14/14 schedule, he or she is responsible for the protected installation, maintenance, and diagnosis of the telecommunications network and all remote operating systems. They ensure the reliability of the underground communication network (coaxial, RF, and systems), which is essential to the safety and efficiency of mining operations.
They adhere to company principles by adopting sustainable development-oriented management, and the organization's code of conduct.
Essential Duties Maintenance and installation of the VHF/UHF telecommunications network above and below ground (Icom)
RF reading for equipment health checks (FSH4, repeaters, RF antennas)
Keeping telecommunications system plans up to date (AutoCAD and Deswik)
Maintenance of remote operation and remote-control systems for various underground equipment
Maintenance of communication, radios, winch communication systems, and blasting systems.
Collaboration with the IT department to ensure compliance with company standards in terms of applications,
cybersecurity, and network and server infrastructure.
Comply with, understand, and promote company regulations and policies, particularly in the area of health and safety
Use SAP to manage notices, work orders, and parts orders
Support various technology projects to improve operations
All tasks related to the performance of these duties Training &
Experience College diploma in instrumentation and control A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
Experience in the mining and/or construction industry
Knowledge of telecommunications systems (CMTS) Map, license, mining modules
Bilingual (French/English) Skills and Competencies Organizational skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills, both oral and written
