Our client is developing a new medium-lift launch vehicle and is looking for a Test Stand Design Engineer to help build the infrastructure required to test a 700 kN-class liquid rocket engine.
This is a hands-on role covering the design, build, commissioning, and operation of propulsion test facilities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and building rocket engine test stands and ground infrastructure.
- Developing high-pressure and cryogenic propellant systems.
- Designing thrust structures, engine mounts, and mechanical hardware.
- Creating P&IDs; and integrating instrumentation, controls, and safety systems.
- Leading commissioning, cold-flow testing, and hot-fire operations.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of mechanical, fluid systems, propulsion, or test engineering experience.
- Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace,
or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience designing high-pressure and cryogenic fluid systems.
- Strong CAD, P&ID;, and mechanical design capabilities.
- Knowledge of valves, regulators, relief devices, and fluid-system sizing.
- Experience with instrumentation, structural loads, and test systems.
- Hands-on experience with commissioning, pressure testing, leak testing, and troubleshooting.
Nice to Have
- Experience with liquid rocket engine hot-fire testing.
- Knowledge of LOX and liquid methane (LCH4) systems.
- Experience with Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and propellant feed systems.
- Familiarity with LabVIEW, PLCs, or FPGAs.
- Experience with hazard analysis and high-energy test operations.
