Principal duties of the Senior Financial Analyst - 12 months:

Our client is one of the largest municipal parking services in the GTA is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst with a focus on Joint Venture accounting to join their team for a 12 month contract role. For the right candidate, there is potential for the role to convert.

The role is hybrid with in office 3 days a week located in downtown Toronto and work remote from home 2 days a week.

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for financial reporting, full-cycle accounting, month-end and year-end close, financial statement preparation, audit support, and process improvement initiatives.

This role partners with teams across the organization to provide financial insights, strengthen internal controls, enhance reporting processes, and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to joint venture partnerships.
- Perform joint venture month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Review general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Support external and internal audits, including audit schedules and documentation.




- Develop and enhance financial controls, policies, and reporting processes to improve efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Lead process improvement initiatives and financial system enhancements.
- Serve as a Finance SME for SAP S/4HANA and support data governance activities.
- Qualifications:
- CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
- Solid financial reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and financial functions.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
